You probably have already heard about the dancing wave which is currently spreading on the internet. Plane, university, pool, office, stadium, tv show and studios ... whatever the places people from the four corners of the world seem to be delighted to take part to this huge phenomenon: after the Gangnam Style is now time for the Harlem Shake to let us expressing the craziest part of ourselves !
What is the Harlem shake exactly and where it comes from?
It originally referred to a dance that began in Harlem, New York back in 1981. It has its roots in an Ethiopian dance called "Eskista".
The Harlem Shake has been referenced in various songs over the years but it's the version of the American music producer Baauer - uploaded on Youtube on August 23rd of 2012 - that's you're hearing in all "Harlem Shake" videos.
According to YouTube’s official trend report, more than 4,000 “Harlem Shake” videos were uploaded to YouTube each day throughout the second week of February 2013.
By February 13th, approximately 12,000 “Harlem Shake” videos had been posted, gaining more than 44 million views.

How to make your "Harlem Shake" video properly?
Only two main easy features :
- At the video beginning, only one masked individual is dancing. This person is sometimes also wearing a costume. Anyone else in the room either still or simply not paying attention to the dancer.
- When the bass drops, everyone else joins in on the dancing, usually accompanied by costumes and/or props.
